Momentos memorables (3a. parte)

1. septiembre - Deutsch Kurs (la UNAM, otra vez; sede, Antigua Escuela de Economía; compañeros, memorables, maestra, una amiga).

2. octubre - la boda de Raúl y Ana Lilia (preparativos, emoción al máximo, dama de honor, etc, etc).


3. noviembre - una declaración de amor tardía (tal vez nunca alguien más vuelva a sentir lo que él por mi; pero, desafortunadamente las cosas son muy diferentes ahora).

4. diciembre - vacaciones con la familia (navidad, fin de año, fiestas de cumpleaños, posada, romeritos, bacalao, ausencia de los seres queridos, gratitud con Dios).

Momentos memorables (II)

1. Mayo - Clima cálido, mes de pura convivencia familiar y celebración del día de las madres en Bellas Artes (Esquina Bajan).

2. Junio - Vacaciones familiares (Estados Unidos, playa, ballenas, sobrinos traviesos, compras veraniegas, meriendas en Panera, caballeros medievales, parábolas de Jesús, mundial de fútbol, veladas interminables, etc, etc).


3. Julio - Mi cumpleaños (una linda fiesta sorpresa)


4. Agosto - Visita de Joan (ex jefa, señora incansable, luchadora social, una inspiración)

Algunos momentos memorables (1a. parte)

1. Enero - Reencuentros familiares. El fallecimiento de mi padre trajo consigo algunos reencuentros: primero, con mis otros hermanos; segundo, con mis primos Hernández Silva (en especial con mi prima Andrea, quien se ha vuelto parte importante de mi vida); y tercero, con unas chicas lindas de la iglesia (Meli, Celia y Yedzi).


2. Febrero - Concierto de U2 en Monterrey (viaje relámpago, machaca que aniquiló mi estómago, texanos coqueteando, amigas estupendas, mi primer viaje con Fer, cielo despejado, viento gélido, el cerro de la silla, regios que no cantaron una sola canción (al menos donde yo estaba) y un taxista genial de China, Nuevo León).


3. Febrero - El concierto de U2 en el Estadio Azteca - La reivindicación (boleto conseguido tres horas antes del concierto (no reventa; increíble, pero cierto, gracias Clau), salir corriendo del trabajo para llegar, buen ambiente, un irlandés bebiendo cerveza como loco a mi lado contando sus historias de adolescencia vincluladas con Bono y algunos temas personales (Miss Sarajevo, One, Where the Streets Have no Name)).


4. Marzo - El concierto de Oasis en el Palacio de los Deportes (viernes por la noche, con la compañía de Claudia, escenografía muy sencilla, muchos padres con sus hijos, canciones que trajeron recuerdos de la universidad, un ñor coqueteando e invitándonos a cenar a la Condechi, Wonderwall (el momento cumbre)).



5. Abril - El Campamento Súper Infantil (reuniones de preparación, taller de repostería, mis camperos, Eze y yo como confidentes, Kikotén (mi refugio)).

Christmas Presents

I usually love all my Christmas presents. Now, distant memories take me back to the year Santa Claus gave me a set of baby dolls. I'll never forget my mom's expression whe she noticed that I did not like my present. I was very disappointed and mad at Santa because back then I did not want dolls with big black eyes staring at me. In my letter to Santa, I had asked for a Fisher Price Zoo (with animals and ornaments included).

My mom tried to convince me to play with my babies; however, I put them back in their case and never played with them again. WhenI turned 17 years old, I needed some money and I sold my babies to a school mate. That same day, I learned that Santa went to three different stores to try to find my zoo. I felt terrible but everything was done.

Christmas Shopping

Everybody goes crazy on Christmas time. Malls, department stores, gift shops, super markets, and similar places are more than crowded. I'm just avoiding the fact that I still have to buy three presents, THREE PRESENTS!!! And three days before I run out of time, and the remorseless ticktock is in my head torturing me.

"Arráncame la vida"

Ya me lo habían recomendado hace algunos ayeres en casa de Judith cuando veíamos el atarceder trepadas en el techo de la casa del Pedregal. En ese entonces, ella no pensaba que yo iba a ser la heredera de ese mismo libro y de muchos otros. Aún recuerdo cuando algunos años después subimos las escaleras que conducían al cuartito de trebejos donde había alrededor de 10 cajas con libros. -Llévate lo que quieras, me dijo. -No me puedo llevar todo eso a Canadá. No me lo dijo dos veces, pasé toda la tarde buceando entre cajas, contenta, escogiendo los libros que más me gustaron, agradecida con Judith porque lo mejor que uno puede compartir en la vida son libros o discos o películas.

Pasaron muchos años y entre lecturas obligadas y otras por placer, Arráncame la vida cobró vida nuevamente hoy a las 8 de la noche cuando leí sus primeras hojas. So far (como dicen los anglófonos), me he reído a carcajadas y la lectura, antes de empezar a analizar el rol de la mujer, la construcción de personajes,etc, etc, ha sido placentera. A ver qué tal despues...

Mano dura

Y para finalizar mis segmentos de la toma de posesión de la presidencia de la república, sólo unos datos muy muy útiles del nuevo Secretario de Gobernación, Ramírez Acuña.(como diría Resortes, "ay mamacita").

-Como gobernador de Jalisco se opuso a la Ley de Transparencia.

-Reprimió manifestaciones de grupos opositores a la globalización de una manera brutal.

-Fue quien destapó a Calderón y su estado fue el que tuvo más irregularidades en el proceso electoral, entre otras muchas cosas igual de delicadas. Lean esto. y esto.

Y pasó el 1° de diciembre...

...con todos los eventos y eventualidades que se esperaban. He aquí un extracto de la reseña que el New York Times en su edición electrónica publicó el día de hoy.

"Never before in modern Mexican history has a president been sworn under such chaotic and divisive conditions. (...) At noon today, Mr. Calderón gave a speech to several thousand invited guests at the National Auditorium, as hundreds of police in riot gear ringed the building and blocked roads for miles around with tall metal fences. While on the street Mr. Lopez Obrador’s supporters chanted slogans and waved banners, inside the auditorium the atmosphere was more like the Academy Awards than a political rally, with smooth voiced announcers praising Mr. Calderón and a big-screen television showing a rosy biography of him".
